Who is holding your bag
Run by the hotel that houses it
DROP is operated by Motornet Sdn Bhd, which also operates Kinabalu Daya Hotel. Reception staff take your bag and carry it to a locked storage room on the premises.
Tagged, logged, locked
Staff tag every bag and write it into the log with your name and number. The storage room opens only for staff, and CCTV covers it and the desk.
Late flight, late collection
If your flight slips to 1am, collect at 1am. Public holidays included.

What happens at the desk
1. Walk in and ask for DROP
The desk is inside the Kinabalu Daya Hotel lobby on Jalan Pantai. Say how many bags and how long, and pay there. Nothing to book, no app, no account.
2. Tag, log, storage room
Staff tag each bag and carry it through to the locked room. You keep the paper stub. Tell the desk first if anything inside is valuable, because there are things we cannot take.
3. Come back with the stub
Any hour, 3am included. Check your bag in front of the person who hands it back, and say so at the desk if anything is wrong.
Two minutes to Gaya Street
Walking times start at the lobby door. Manukan and Sapi are about twenty minutes by boat from the jetty.

Luggage storage FAQ
Is this left luggage? A bag drop?
At DROP, yes. Left luggage, bag drop, luggage storage — here they all mean the same thing: you hand bags over at the front desk and collect them later. No lockers. Staff take the bag and put it in a locked room.
Which jetty do the island boats leave from?
Check the departure point with your boat operator. The old Jesselton Point terminal closed in March 2026; Jesselton Point services now use South Jetty behind Jesselton Quay. DBKK Jetty is a separate departure point, opposite Suria Sabah and seven minutes on foot from DROP. Your ticket may still say Jesselton Point, so confirm the meeting point before setting off. Ask at our desk if you need directions.
Do I need to book?
No. Walk into the Kinabalu Daya Hotel lobby, say how many bags and how long, and pay at the desk. Cash in ringgit, card, GrabPay or Boost.
Are you really open at 3am?
Yes. The desk is the hotel's reception and it never closes, every day of the year, public holidays included.
Who is responsible for my bag?
Motornet Sdn Bhd, which operates DROP and Kinabalu Daya Hotel. We are responsible for taking reasonable care of your bag while it is with us. The terms set out what that covers and what it does not.
Hourly or daily — which is cheaper?
RM6 per bag per hour with no minimum, so four hours is RM24. From the fifth hour the RM25 day rate costs less. The hourly rate does not switch over by itself, so tell the desk which one you want.
Four bags or more?
RM22 per bag for the first 24 hours instead of RM25, then RM20 per bag after that. Oversized items add RM10 each per 24 hours on top. Ask the desk to total it before you pay.
What will you not take?
Cash, jewellery, watches, laptops, cameras and other valuables. A passport or medication you need that day. Perishable food, live animals, and anything dangerous or illegal. Keep those with you, and ask before you leave anything you are unsure about.
What if I lose the claim stub?
You can still collect. Bring identification and describe what is inside before the bag is opened. It takes longer, and staff can decline if the description does not match.
What if I come back later than I paid for?
The bag waits and you pay for the extra time at the rate written on your receipt: a further 24 hours is RM20 a bag, or RM30 for an oversized item. There is no penalty for being late. Message us if you will be a day or more.
